If you think you are getting the real deal, a CHI by Farouk flat iron like they use in salons, you are mistaken. I was instantly suspicious of the packaging this came in. The packaging was incredibly cheap and not what I was expecting given the reputation of the CHI brand. When I took the iron out of the package it felt just as cheap as it looked. A quick flip through the manual intensified my suspicion that this was a counterfeit product as there was no mention of Farouk, the manufacturer of the CHI flat irons. Upon closer inspection I noticed the biggest difference of all was the "Made in China" on the inside of the flat iron...CHI by Farouk flat irons are made in the United States.
A genuine CHI by Farouk flat iron is totally worth the money (annoyingly enough, I didn't even save any money ordering from here as the real one, actually upgraded from the one I thought I was getting from here, I bought at local authorized retailer was on sale for the same price...grrr) but this one on here is, in my opinion, a cheap knock off.
