(More customer reviews)I can see the appeal of a breastshield that "comfortably massages," but I find these painful whereas the standard hard plastic ones aren't. It took me a while to realize this was the problem and switch to the hard shields from these (which came with the pump).
The soft material sticks to the skin--this is especially painful early on when the nipple is tender--and bends out of shape over several weeks. There is nothing uncomfortable, in my experience, about the hard shields--do you mind resting your soft arm against a hard desk? This is less pressure than that.
