The band will go right over your shirt. It holds the pump bottles very securely. I had to pump at work several times a day for an entire school year and before I bought this, I was considering giving up because I couldn't pump and get my grading done. With this band, I would strap on my pump and get through a stack of grading. I felt a little stupid spending $35 on a piece of elastic, but it's totally worth it: it does what it promises, it is durable, and it folds up very compactly. I highly recommend this product for any mom who has to pump. Nothing beats having your hands free to get work done or even read a magazine while you are doing something wonderful for your baby.
